To celebrate Pollinator Week, we are highlighting central Kentucky’s butterflies.
Nearly 150 butterflies have been documented throughout the state. This indoor presentation will feature some of the most common summer butterflies in the Inner Bluegrass region. Participants will learn tricks for identification, basic biology of butterflies, and their relationships with native plants. We will also cover community science projects and resources for documenting and sharing butterfly observations. After the presentation, there will be an opportunity to observe butterflies in the pollinator field by the Nature Center.
Presenter: Beverly James, Preserve Director
Hiking Level: any walking after the presentation will be on easy terrain, but some of it may be in full sun
Bring: water
Optional: hiking poles, snack, camera, binoculars, sun hat
All attendees will be emailed important details prior to the event. Please be sure your email address and cellphone number are correct. If you are registering a guest, please include their name, email, and cell so we can more easily communicate relevant information to all participants.
